Mission:
To provide the public with safe and enjoyable recreation opportunities within the County Parks, and to provide aesthetic landscaping to County properties.
Park Hours of Operation:
Regular Park Availability:
Friday - Sunday, 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Two weeks before Easter Weekend through the last Sunday in October (2026 Season: 3/20/2026 – 10/25/2026).

Park Reservations:
Reservations/payments can be made in person Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
NOTE: Reservations must be made a week in advance, no later than 3:30 p.m. on Thursdays, this includes making changes to any reservations that have already been booked. Cancellations/refunds are allowed up to two weeks prior to your event with a $5.00 fee.

Cleaning Deposit refunds may take up to 30 days after the date of your reservation.

Reservation of picnic areas and/or ball fields may only be reserved in the same calendar year of the reservation.
All regular reservations must be made at the Kings County Public Works office. The only forms of payment taken for reservations are cash, check or credit card (please note: a 2.25% service charge applies for all credit/debit card transactions with a minimum of $2.00)
Please select the park you would like to make your reservation for (i.e., Burris Park or Hickey Park ) using the links provided here or on the main page.
Area reservation prices are given on the reservation price list (i.e., Burris Park Reservation Price List or Hickey Park Reservation Price List).
All bounce house vendors must have their insurance on file with the County of Kings as additional insured. Please contact our office with limits required. Our office has a list of vendors who currently have their insurance on file. Please contact us prior to making your bounce house reservation.
Special event reservations may be made at any time using the Special Event Application and are recommended to be made with as much advance notice as possible.
Fees for special events are determined after the request application has been reviewed.
Please submit all special event applications to the Public Works office.

Museum Cost: $0/Donations are preferred and can be made at the museum or in person at the Public Works office (up to $999.00).

History of the Museum:
The Kings County Museum was born as a part of the celebration of Kings County's first Homecoming and Pioneer collecting items which would show the history of the county. Aided by interested citizens, the club purchased the outstanding antique collection of veterinarian Dr.Frank Griffith. These and many other relics from days gone by were gathered and placed on display.
County Supervisor, C.R. Swanson and his wife Bernice, offered to donate and build a structure at Burris Park for the Museum. The county accepted this generous offer, and the museum opened in the summer of 1955 in it's new home.
A visit to this charming museum is a lesson on the history of our county. There are items from the earliest inhabitants, both human and animal, as well as household and farming implements and modes of travel. switch board
Through the generosity of Leonard L. Hall and many friends of the museum, we proudly dedicated the Leonard L. and Catherine L. Hall Wing in 1998. We would like to thank all who have been part in this effort.

The Kings County Museum is dedicated to the collection, preservation, study, and exhibition of objects illustrating the history of Kings County and the lower Kings River region.
