Return Your BallotDon't delay! Once you vote your ballot and properly sign the envelope, you need to return it on time. Here's how:
Remember, all Vote-by-Mail ballot must be Postmarked by Election Day or returned to any Ballot Drop Box or Vote Center by 8:00 P.M on Election Day. Mailed ballots must be received no later than 7 days after Election Day to be considered delivered on time. |
Received a Notice or letter about your ballot being challenged? No worries. Part of the Vote-by-Mail ballot acceptance process is the Signature Check/Verification portion. This step ensures that someone else can't attempt to cast your ballot without you knowing. We match the signature on the return envelope with that from your most recent voter registration. If your signature has changed since you last registered to vote, we recommend re-registering with an updated signature. If we can't match your signature, or if you forgot to sign the ballot return envelope, you'll receive a letter asking you to correct the issue. California Law requires the letter be sent on or before the next business day after making the determination. If you've signed up for BallotTrax, you'll receive a message via your preferred method. Simply complete the form with the signature of your most recent registration (usually that which is on your California ID or Drivers License) and return it in the included pre-addressed, postage paid envelope. If you received a notice from BallotTrax and don't want to wait for the letter to arrive in the mail, please use the blank form provided below. Be sure to fill out all the requested information and then return it to our office. You can return the letter via the following: 1) Mail it back to our office. Our address is: Kings County Elections 1400 W. Lacey Blvd Hanford, CA 93230 or use the included pre-addressed, postage paid envelope. 2) Email the letter to elections@countyofkings.com.
