Candidate Statement Deadline. This is the last day for office holders who are being recalled to submit a statement for inclusion in the voter information guide. Note that the original Response to the Notice of Intention filed at the beginning of the recall process will already be included in the Voter Information Pamplet. |

Randomized Alphabet Draw. A public drawing shall be held to determine the order of the recall questions for the officeholder names on the ballot. This shall be done by randomly drawing each letter of the alphabet. |

Military and Overseas Ballots. Last day for the County Elections Official to transmit ballots and balloting materials to absent military or overseas voters who have requested them by this date.

Mailing of Vote-by-Mail Ballots. No later than 29 days before the day of the elections, the County Elections Office shall begin mailing the materials required by Section 3010. (E.C. §§ 3001, and 3010)
Processing of Vote-By-Mail Ballots. The processing of Vote-by-Mail ballots may commence on the 29th day before the election but the results of the tally shall not be released until after 8 p.m. on Election Day.

In Person Voting. In person voting opportunities will be available at the County Elections Office beginning this day.
Ballot Drop Box Open. A Ballot Drop Box will be available at the Kings County Library for voter use. A voter can also return their ballot by mail, can deliver it directly to the Elections Office in Hanford, or use the ballot drop boxes located at the Kings County Government Center if they want.

Close of Registration. Last day to transfer or register to vote in this election. If a voter is note registered and still wishes to vote, they can participate via the Conditional Voter Registration Process.

Vote Center - First Day. A Vote Center will be open in the City of Avenal beginning 4 days prior to election day. Vote Center Operation Hours and Location will be available in your Vote Information Guide included with your Vote-by-Mail Packet. A VCA election may be conducted pursuant to E.C. § 4005(a)(4). |
| 04/28/2026 - Election Day |
Vote Center, including the Kings County Elections Office will be open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM unless otherwise instructed by court order.
All Ballot Drop Boxes will be closed promptly at 8:00 PM unless otherwise instructed by court order.
Last Day to Mail your ballot. Ballots must have a date stamp on or before election day and received by our office no later than the close of business on 05/05/2026 for them to be eligible to be counted.
Semi-Official Canvass. The semi-official canvass of the vote will begin after polls close at 8:00 PM unless otherwise instructed by court order. The initial results of ballots counted will be will be posted at 8:05 PM with updates to follow every 2 hours until all in-person ballots have been counted. Please note that these are not the final results.

Official Canvass of the Vote. The official canvass of the vote begins and will be worked on at minimum 6 hours daily until completed, excluding weekends and holidays. Activities of the official canvass include: processing of outstanding Vote-by-Mail ballots, processing of Conditional and Provisional ballots received, the 1% manual tally audit, and other activities.
Certification of the Election. The Registrar of Voters is to certify the results of the election, creating an official record of the votes casted and winners on the races
